Shaquilla Lunsford

Shaquilla (shuh-kee-luh) M. Lunsford, or better known as the "Dragon Queen", is known for writing fantasy worlds full of magic and majestic creatures. She enjoys the complexity and creativity required to develop an entirely new world with its own set of rules and characters. With her love of dragons, they usually make an appearance in her writing or daily life. She also draws inspiration from Greek and Roman mythology to create some creatures and characters, and sheer imagination for others. Despite Shaquilla's passion for fantasy, poetry is her first love because it offers a freedom of open expression without judgement. It is where she first learned to create vivid imagery and metaphors of everyday experiences and emotions. This skill often leaks into her novels, and the poetry incorporated is usually her own. Shaquilla developed her passion for both poetry and fantasy stories while growing up in North Carolina. She currently lives in Florida with her "mini zoo" (consisting of three types of reptiles, a cat, and a dog), and continues to cultivate her love for writing.
